Capacity Building Workshop
The constitution governing the United Youth Initiative Africa places paramount importance on both individual and collective youth development. However, a large portion of our members belong to socially and economically disadvantaged demographic groups, including illiterates, school dropouts, persons with disabilities, and those from remote and conservative communities. These members exhibit a knowledge gap on critical issues such as climate change, leadership, and their role in elevating their communities to global standards. This disconnect necessitates a strategic alignment with the needs of the community, local government, as well as broader regional and global objectives.
As part of our broader commitment to enhancing meaningful youth engagement in climate action, leadership, and global discourse, the United Youth Initiative Africa is embarking on an initiative to equip and train the youth in the Busia district. Our aim is to provide them with carefully curated and dynamic entrepreneurial and leadership skills, insights into global opportunities, and a broad understanding of climate leadership, private sector and individual development.
It is worth noting that youth leadership and entrepreneurship is envisioned as a key catalyst for achieving structural economic-social transformation. This holds immense potential to create millions of employment opportunities, foster innovation, and alleviate poverty, illiteracy, and related socio-economic challenges.
In this context, United Youth Initiative Africa is planning to conduct a broad training workshop for youth, focusing on best practices in the aforementioned domains. This training program is scheduled to take place from the 9th to the 11th of November, 2023, in Busia district.
